How to Design and Launch a Scalable Employee Transport Solution from Scratch

Building an employee transport program from the ground up is a significant undertaking, but getting the foundation right makes everything easier to scale later. Whether you’re setting up transport for a single office or planning for multi-city expansion, the decisions you make early determine how well the program holds up as headcount and complexity grow. This article walks you through each phase.

Phase 1: Assess Demand and Define Scope

Start with data, not assumptions.

 

  • Survey employees to understand home locations, preferred shift timings, and willingness to use shared transport
  • Map employee addresses geographically to identify density clusters and coverage zones
  • Estimate daily ridership by shift – morning, evening, and night often need separate program designs

Phase 2: Design the Program Structure
