What the data reveals about India’s shift to sustainable mobility
India’s average one-way commute crossed 64 minutes. But the increase was far from even, and one city saw its commute time climb by more than 8% while another barely moved. The report features the 2025 versus 2024 comparison for cities, plus one-way distance data.
We mapped weekday traffic hour by hour, from 7am to 9pm, across Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and NCR. Early mornings help almost everywhere. Two cities also get an afternoon reprieve that the others don’t.
Wednesday had held the top spot for two consecutive years. In 2025 it lost it. The report has full weekday attendance percentages and the city-level breakdown, including which two cities averaged the most work from office days/week.
Emissions saved, trees equivalent, EV trip volumes, and green kilometres tracked month by month across 2025.
